Rotorcraft vibration arises from any number of factors and can lead to discomfort, wear and tear, and unsafe flight conditions. To make matters worse, rotorcraft tracking and balancing is often challenging as the flexible blades require both a static and dynamic mass balance and a static and dynamic aerodynamic balance to operate effectively.
Ideally, aerodynamic blade matching and balancing can keep your rotorcraft flying smoothly and vibration-free. With RPX’s DynaVibe and rotor-specific DynaTrack accessory, rotorcraft propellers, tail-rotors, and fixed-wing aircraft enjoy fluid motion while you, the pilot, can focus on the safe journey ahead.
Rotor blades are highly complex due to their large span and their need to transfer loads between blades, thus requiring both mass and aerodynamic balances. Once mass balance is recorded via the dynamic balancing process, the DynaVibe and DynaTrack accessory can be used to measure and aerodynamically balance the blades.

The process is simple: mount the optical tach and accelerometer, and with the press of a button the DynaVibe reports vibration magnitude and phase angle in easy-to-read data that determines where weight adjustments are needed.
